1 stick butter (salted or unsalted)
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
splash of vanilla
1 1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
chocolate chips or chocolate chunks1. heat butter in a saucepan on low heat until browned. remove from stove and add sugar and brown sugar.
2. add egg and vanilla.
3. sift in flour and baking soda, then gently fold until combined.
4. add chocolate.
5. scoop dough onto baking sheet, then chill for 30 minutes.
6. preheat oven to 175C/350F, then bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are slightly browned.
